All subsequent prospect drafts are non-serpentine, and draft order is based on the previous year's regular combined 2 season records, in other words it will be the same draft order as the Spring Free Agent draft of the same year.

5) Owners lose rights to all prospects that they release; Released prospects are eligible to be drafted as either a) Free Agents if they were issued SOM cards or b) prospects again if never issued SOM cards.
6) There clock is on for Round 1 of each prospect draft, is will be considered a continuation of the Free Agent draft All subsequent rounds will operate with a 2 hour clock.
7) Individual owners are responsible for their own prospect research.

Supplemental Free Agent drafts:
1) A Supplemental Free Agent draft of up to 2 rounds will be held between seasons 1 and 2 of each calendar year.
2) All owners must announce their roster drops ( up to 3) prior to the Supplemental draft.
3) Owners may drop up to 3 players, but do not have to drop any. Three drops are only allowed for 2 things:
a) the promotion of a prospect
b) to allow for an extra pick acquired in a trade.
Owners with less than a 40 man active roster may use the Supplemental Draft to get back to a full 40 man roster under the following conditions:
a) They have the draft picks available to do so
b) they do not drop more than 2 players
c) they can do it within the 2 rounds/24 pick draft window.
4) Supplemental Free Agent drafts are non-serpentine; Supplemental Free Agent draft order is determined by the previous season's regular season record, with the playoff teams in the west their draft order determined by order of finish in the playoffs.
5) There is no clock for Round 1 of the Supplemental Free Agent draft. All subsequent rounds will operate with a 2 hour clock.
6) The Supplemental Free Agent draft is only 2 rounds. There will never be more than 24 picks made in the Supplemental draft.
7) Eligibility for players to be drafted follows the same rules as the Spring Free Agent draft for that year, that is any player with MLB experience prior to the start of the current MLB season is eligible to be drafted in the supplemental draft

Annual Spring Free Agent drafts:
1) A non-serpentine free agent draft of no more than 180 picks, will be held each year shortly after TSN/SOM cards are released. Draft order is determined by cumulative win/loss records from the previous year. Worst to first, NFL style. Ties are Broken as follows: Playoff teams from previous season will be seeded lower than non- playoff team; next total wins from season 2, lower win total will be seeded lower; next lower win total from seaon 1, lower win total wil be seeded lower; next, coin flip.

2) All owners must drop Must drop enough players to bring their roster to 25 active players. Once that is done, owners may then promote prospects adding to their active roster and thus subtracting from their draft picks.
3) Player drops must be announce prior to the beginning of the Free Agent draft.
4) All owners must have a full 40 man roster upon completion of the annual Spring Free Agent draft.
5) There is no clock for Round 1 of each Annual Free Agent draft. All subsequent rounds will operate with a 2 hour clock. 10am-10pm. No clock on weekends.
6) PROSPECT PROMOTIONS AND DROPS MUST BE DONE PRIOR TO THE START OF THE FREE AGENT DRAFT After
6a) DROPPING UP TO 15 REGULAR ROSTER PLAYERS BRINGING THE ACTIVE ROSTER TO 25
6b) AFTER ALL EXPIRING PROSPECTS HAVE BEEN EITHER PROMOTED OR DROPPED; AND
6c) AFTER ALL NON-EXPIRING PROSPECTS HAVE BEEN PROMOTED, DROPPED OR UNCHANGED;

7)NO MANAGER MAY HAVE MORE THAN 10 (TEN) PROSPECTS ON THEIR ROSTER AFTER ALL DROPS AND PROMOTIONS HAVE BEEN MADE AND THE FREE AGENT DRAFT BEGINS
8) Eligibility for Spring Free Agent drafts after the initial draft are as follows: any player that has played in the MLB for any length of time is eligible for the draft regardless of whether or not they have a card in the TSN game.
9) You cannot trade draft choices that you do not own. This means that if you trade a 9th round draft pick, you must release as many players as necessary to insure that you will have a 9th round pick. For example, you have a 40 man roster, and make your 10 cuts, this allows for your trade and you will make your last pick in round 11.
10) It is possible that a manager may have to forfeit picks in the draft in the event that by his cuts, he may picks left however due to acquiring extra picks in early rounds his roster is full. Eg. A manger, through trades, has acquired 2 extra picks in the 1st round, 1 extra pick in the 2nd and 1 extra pick in the 4th and 1 in the 7th, giving him 13 picks in the first 8 rounds. He has also traded away his 9th and 10th round picks. Assuming he only cuts 10 ( which he needs to do to not only get down to 30, but to be able to trade his 9th and 10th round picks), he would be done drafting in Round 6 and forfeit his two 7th and one 8th round picks. He also forfeits the right to trade those picks once it is discovered his roster would be full after round 6. In order to not forfeit those picks, he'd have to make 3 additional cuts.

However if an owner has less than 40 players due to uneven trades, the owner cannot bring his roster to the full 40 until a Free agent draft, whether spring or supplemental. ( See Player Movement)

5) There are no limits to transactions between an owner's major and minor league rosters except those internal to the SOM game engine.
6) Injured players can be kept on a team's major league roster for the duration of their injury. Players promoted to the major league roster as injury replacements must be returned to the minor league roster once the injury has healed. There is a 2-game grace period to return injury replacement players to the minor league roster - this allows each owner to maintain a constant 26 man roster at all times. We will be using the honor system here - please don't keep players beyond their authorized time!
7) Each team is set up with a $999 million dollar roster; all roster transactions will use the 10% Free Agent penalty.
8) All teams must meet SOM roster requirements at all times while in season.

2) Prospects are not counted as part of the 40 man roster while they maintain their prospect status.
3) Owners control the rights of their prospects for no longer than 2 years. At the end of 2 years (from time of draft) a prospect must either be promoted to the MLB roster or released.

5) Prospects can be promoted to the major league roster at any time, provided there is roster space available. Once promoted all prospects lose their prospect status, and cannot be demoted back to prospect status.
Please see additional rules for prospects under the spring free agent draft thread

Player movement:
1) Trading players is authorized and encouraged. The trading of draft picks is also authorized. Unbalanced trades are authorized provided that the 40 man roster limit is maintained at all times; in the event of an unbalanced trade the owner of the team whose roster exceeds the 40 man limit is allowed 1 day to release player(s) to get back to the 40 man limit.
2) There will be no pickups of free agent players except through the Annual and Supplemental Free Agent drafts.
3) Prospects can be activated and promoted to the major league roster during the regular season provided there is roster space available to do so. Players with a full 40 man roster cannot promote a prospect until there is room available to do so.
4) Regular players on the 40 man roster cannot be released in order to promote a prospect while a season is in progress.
5) Regular players can be released from the 40 man roster only for the following: a) pre-draft release prior to Annual Free Agent draft; b) pre-draft release prior to Supplemental free agent draft; c) to bring a roster down to the 40 man limit as a result of an unbalanced transaction.

I'll take the team if still available. Nothing runs more smoothly the a Ninersphan run league. Sadly, there's no Mets on the team I can hold him up for ransom.

Glad to be aboard. Looks like a team I can build upon. Looks like 5 or 6 players from the NAKL league are here as well. Quite active in the trade talk dept, so feel free to inquire. While at first glance the team looks youthful, I wouldn't mind getting even younger. So servicable 2012 (and most 2013 as well) players such as Gonzalez, McCann, Rollins, Freese, etc could be included in any discussion.
