I'd really like to see an unknown star player like Jack Glasscock finally have a card. That 1e80 rating for SS certainly doesn't do his reputation as the best defensive SS of his era any justice. As a minimum he should be no worse than the 1 range shortstops of his era - Dahlen, Davis, Jennings - who are 1e40. Digging a little further into his Baseball Reference page, we find Glasscock had the highest Defensive WAR of any position player in 1889, he was also #2 in Offensive WAR just behind Dan Brouthers, which of course that means his total WAR was the highest in the league that year, ahead of notable SOM players Anson, Brouthers, Connor, Tiernan. The fact he doesn't have a SOM card, like his contemporaries already do, makes a strong and compelling case for us to add him to the player set.

I have a suggestion for an '80s player that is not represented in ATG..

Mike Davis, who mostly played for the Oakland A's.

https://www.baseball-reference.com/play ... mi02.shtml

It seems to me that Davis' 1985, 1986 or 1987 seasons would be a good candidate for inclusion in the set.

Davis was traded to the Dodgers prior to their 1988 World Series championship, and was standing on second base when Kirk Gibson launched that famous home run off of Dennis Eckersley in Game 1.

Reading comprehension is difficult for you. I’m sorry, don’t know that I can help.

I have an opinion about that card, as do you.
NOMINATE HIM. VOTE HIM IN. I DON’T CARE.

I get it. Personalize and polarize.

Won’t it be fun to make the boards an Alinsky battleground?

Of course, he also said a tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.
You have become a drag. Your other issues appear to be congenital.

AMEN. That guy is a cancer if you ask me.

Ditto on what EGV said -
Hes ruined a couple of leagues with this same sort of meaningless poop misrepresenting what people actually said.

How about Hall of Famer Deacon White? I have him as the ~6th best catcher of all time but he played all over the diamond. Looks like his peak was 1873-79 behind the plate with another spike in 1884 at 3B. Curious what his best Strat cards are like.

A Hall of Famer with no card through ATG9? That's a great find! In 1877 he led the league in avg, slg, ops. Whatever cousin of baseball they were playing then, he was the leader.

Thanks!

Andy, any thoughts which of his cards I should nominate?

His best Catcher ratings are not from seasons he played in the NL, so by our add rules, those are out.
That 1877 season does not meet the 300 Plate Appearance Criteria. So....here are his best seasons on NL Squads.

1888 he only plays 3b (and not well), and it's not as good offensively as the others I listed.
1876, would be interesting to see if Strat actually gives him a BULLETPROOF catcher card. Having a Bulletproof catcher would be cool, but I'd rather he had a better arm.
1884 is the best offensively and passable defensively, 1879 is best defensively and almost as good on offense as 1879.

Very cool, thank you! Seems like it's between 1879 or 1884 although I agree 1876 is interesting too. Think I'll go with 1879 if only because it's with a non-defunct franchise. Cheers.
