Show me a guy, who had 6 straight seasons with a rating, any rating, and then drops 2.

Off the top of my head I believe it happened to Pollock last year. After several years of being a 1 in CF, he dropped to a 3 in the most recent set. And like Iglesias, he deserved to be downgraded if you believe in defensive metrics

While we're on the subject of a SS getting screwed out of a 1 rating. What in the world is Strat's justification for not giving Dansby Swanson a 1? He led all shortstops in Defensive Runs Saved and was 2nd in all of baseball in Defensive WAR.

100% in agreement with that Neil. I was positive he was getting a “1” this year. He certainly earned/deserved it with his defensive metrics. He not only passed the eye test but the numbers didn’t lie either.

Not the greatest example, but here goes.

Pollock's first card was in 2012. He was a 3 in CF.(LF/RF)
In 2013, he was a 2 in the OF.
2014, 2 in CF/LF.
2015, he became a 1. (Best season)
2016, hurt. No card.
2017, 1 in CF, hurt & plays in 112 games.
2018, 1 in CF, hurt & plays in 113 games.
2019, 3 in CF/LF, hurt & plays in 86 games.
2020, 3 in LF/CF.

Iglesias:
First card in 2012. 2 @ SS. No injury.
2013, 1 @ SS, No injury.
2014, no card.
2015, 1 @ SS, hurt & plays in 120 games.
2016, 1 @ SS, hurt and plays in 137 games.
2017, 1 @ SS, hurt & plays in 130 games.
2018, 1 @ SS, hurt & plays in 125 games.
2019, 1 @ SS, plays in 146 games.
2020, 1 in the DAILY GAME and injury on 2/12 as well, plays in 39 games.

If injuries played a factor in the range, Strat would have given him a 2 or 3 in 2015-2018.

Close call on Pollock, Neil. Not quite though.

2013 - CF - 2
2014 - 2
2015 - 1
2016 - 2 (Computer game only)
2017 - 1
2018 - 1
2019 - 3
2020 - 3

An interesting bit of Pollock trivia: He hasn't played a game in the month of June since 2015. What could have been without the injuries....

Actually you'd be surprised, this isn't my only hobby I've recently gotten back into Dungeons & Dragons after about 20 years away from the game, and prepping those sessions ( I'm the DM for my group, if you do not know what that is, the time commitment is way more than running multiple keeper leagues) is taking up quite a bit of my free time.

So given that, and the fact Pollack would have been one of my examples which you've disputed, and the fact I suspect you really won't change your mind and just dispute anything else i find, I've decided not to waste my time, and acquiesce to your position.

You win. ;)

While I knew about D&D, I had only an inkling of how involved it can get when my kiddo took an online adventure. I mean, it makes sense that it has so much depth to classes and such, but good god. Fun though!

And that is part of the time consumption. I'm not only re-learning the game( it's now on it's 5th edition rules, I played last when it was second edition). But i"m also having to learn the online tools to play as my my group consists of family who live 600 miles away. But yes it's great fun! I was rolling 20 sided dice when most of you were probably still using split cards. I'm a bit of an odd duck in that, I'm a gamer who happens to also be a huge sports fan. Found Strat well into my gaming days but wargames ( Axis & Allies anyone???) and D&D did it for me LONG before I learned of Strat.
