Here's another bump.

Drops / Final rosters before the FA draft is 4 - 6 weeks away. Technically, we can proceed with our Summer season like normal. The FA draft, in particular, can proceed mostly as normal. Though, we don't have the benefit of three months into the season to scout futures.

Another thing that comes to mind is our prospect draft. With the MLB draft reduced to five rounds and the amateur contract signing altered in a very significant way (plus no minor leagues), we could consider delaying the Prospect draft until much later in the 'real-life' year. Possibly following the pre-Winter league supplemental draft. This is just a suggestion.

Can anyone comment on things other Keeper leagues are doing?

Other thoughts?

Pre-Card Draft Keeper League did the FA and prospect drafts as usual, however season 2 has been delayed. We're hoping to do a supp draft at the mid-point of some shorter MLB season and then start season 2 after that.

I don't have a problem with business as usual. MLB is drafting in a few weeks with no ability to scout HS or College players.

There is never a guarantee on how players (or the cards) will perform. Maybe no advance scouting will make things more interesting!

I echo JMP. no reason not to be business as usual with this league, Given it's later start, it's probably best set up to handle the current MLB situation. Additionally, it will be nice to actually have a player or two available in the winter half of this league for a change. ;)

With the five round draft starting today (ends tomorrow) and the modified rules for signing and paying of bonuses, I am unsure how that will impact contract signing. I haven't tried to research this year's changes to understand how they may impact future years. If this year's changes were for this year, only, and the draft reverts back for next year, some players may be motivated to not sign and re-enter the draft, next year, if that could give them better leverage. On the other hand, with the collective bargaining agreement ending after the 2021 season, the league and the union are in a very tight spot to keep the game running without further interruption.

My point is, let's be very clear what date new amateurs have to be under contract by in order to be drafted in this year's Prospect draft.

That's all.
