HAL has a Major Meltdown....True story!!

PostFri May 15, 2020 3:28 pm

So, inexplicably...in like the 8th inning...HAL meltsdown...
mind you Washington was in and somehow was replaced by Wockenfuss who does not even play SS
he moves Horner to 2B - to insert Thornton off the bench to play 3B, which he does not even play
I tell, ya, sometimes HAL just stands for "Having Already Lost"....move over HAL, ol buddy
I gotta grab the wheel!??!?!?!?

ok,
So i get a MELTDOWN being a meltdown...but he keeps doing it....
It appears he has a real affinity towards putting Wockenfuss @ secondbase
I wouldn't put Wocky @ second if he had a hockey Goalie's stick and pads!!!

So far, he appears to do this when I have a lead...so It has not been costly, lately!!

Please, let me know!!!...should I reduce defensive sub settings!?!?!?
is this triggering the Meltdown phase!?!?!?!
Experienced players please provide sme feedback!?!?!?

Thanks in advance!

Certainly could be your settings. Do you have anyone set on Rem. 4 def sub? That's generally a bad idea. Hal will remove him even if there is no one better at that position... In fact, he'll remove him even if there's no one available at that position! And that can lead to chaos.
Conversely, setting defensive subs on the Team Strategy tab is pretty safe. Hal takes that as merely a suggestion, and makes a substitution when appropriate.

Thanks, actually a few, which I will remove....
here's a peek at tonight's flying f----ng circus!

SUBSTITUTION at SS: John Wockenfuss
T8 SUBSTITUTION at 2B: Bob Dernier
T8 SUBSTITUTION at C: Reggie Smith
T8 SUBSTITUTION at LF: Dusty Baker
T8 SUBSTITUTION at SS: U.L. Washington
T8 SUBSTITUTION at 2B: Tom Herr

Reggie Smith Catching!?!?!?!...Greg Luzinski could steal 3d base off him!!
mind you that is after he subbed Wockenfuss @ SS, who CAN catch...
It is always with a lead that the meltdown occurs!!

HEY THANKS!
read the thread...and put it to bed....I HOPE
but, it made sense to unclick the remove for def and just go with the 4 defense in "Strategy" INSERTS
should be all set!!!
