2. 1930 Carl Reynolds, White Sox, RF/LF 2(-1)e12, CF 3. Bats R .359/.388/.584/.973 with 16 SBs, 22 HRs and 104 RBI, with career highs in PA, H, R, BA, TR (18!), HR, RBI, OBP, SLG, OPS, OPS+ & TB. Only Sox legends Luke Appling, Shoeless Joe Jackson and Eddie Collins (twice) had a higher single season BA for the White Sox. Reynolds had blazing speed and was considered among the best OFers in the game, but was slowed by injuries after 1930. HOFer Al Simmons played for the Sox from 1933-35, but Reynolds' 1930 season was better than any of the 3 by Simmons. Reynolds finished his 13 year big league career with a .302 career BA. He has just one lousy $1.34 mil card with the 1934 Red Sox.

4. 1992 Curt Schilling P PHI. He spent most of his time in Philadelphia and should have a card there. 1992 saw a career best ERA, H/9 and HR/9. Low K totals should keep his salary down and this card can both start and relieve.

5. 1969 Mack Jones - The starting left fielder and darling of the expansion Montreal Expos, Jones hit a three-run home run and two-run triplein an 8–7 win over the St. Louis Cardinals in the Expos' first home victory as a franchise at Jarry Park. Jones' blast was also the first MLB home run hit outside the United States. Jones was so popular in Montreal that the left-field bleachers in Jarry Park were nicknamed "Jonesville." Looks like Otis is comfortably in. Right now, 29 is the cut line, but there are lots of 28's. Bob Watson's the 29, the 28's are Billy Rogell, Steve Rogers, and Thornton Lee.

I also voted for Les Bell, as third basemen with a little power are rare in the pre-war set and while he won't belt 30 HRs a season, his extra base power and good batting average may make him worthy of consideration on a variety of team types, especially at lower caps.

Unfortunately for the 1926 Bell season, it is among many good seasons for players who are now fairly obscure, having faded into history. The online SOM community does a pretty good job unearthing those seasons and players as we strive to improve and broaden the card set, but sometimes worthy seasons for largely forgotten players take a while to be added to the set.

Hopefully Bell will get another shot, as there are a lot of third basemen in the card set who are far less worthy and he arguably would rank among the top 50% of third basemen in the card set.

Oddly enough, in 1980 another Bell third baseman, Buddy Bell, had an eerily similar season to 1926 Les Bell, batting .329 17 83 .379 .498 .877, compared to Les Bell's .325 17 100 .383 .518 .901.

Hopefully, the day will come where the 1980 Buddy Bell season and the 1926 Les Bell season will be added to the card set.

Yes, voting ends today. I'll be posting the results later this afternoon. The 19.3 cards aren't due until late September.
