Final standings

PostSat May 18, 2019 11:21 am

Hi folks,

Now that we're in to the 90's playoffs, the playoff hopes and possibilities are getting limited. Here's a list of who has clinched a spot in the final 12, and who is still alive:

Clinched playoff spot:
1. markmorrison 409
2. AdamKatz 407
3. sphilipp8 397
4. franky35 395
5. mburatti76 384
6. Rjnewman 380
7. brian straub 379

Currently in a playoff spot but not yet clinched:
8. waynick 376 [current total, participating in 90's playoffs]
9. Jimmy_C 375 [Final total, not in 90's playoffs]
10. jugslavin 375 [Final total, not in 90's playoffs]
11. Spider 67 374 [current total, participating in 90's playoffs]
12. Lee300 373 [Final total, not in 90's playoffs]

Still alive:
14. Takanahana 372 [current total, participating in 90's playoffs]
14. hallerose 372 [current total, participating in 90's playoffs]
16. bigdinkent 369 [current total, participating in 90's playoffs]
17. SteadyEddie33 367 [current total, participating in 90's playoffs]
19. FALCON29 364 [current total, participating in 90's playoffs]

Notes: Jimmy_C has the tie breaker over jugslavin, which could prove to be very important. merkle08 has been eliminated despite being tied in the 12th spot right now as he loses a tie breaker with Lee300 and he is not in his 90's playoffs. It's also worth noting the Moodywoody has been eliminated, so we'll have a new champion for the first time since 2016! Moodywoody, you're still the Mystery G.O.A.T.! Sadly, Juiced JC has also been eliminated.

So, it's interesting that there is still a lot to be decided. Five of the 12 spots in the championship are still up for grabs! Jimmy_C, jugslavin and Lee300 are at risk because their totals are final - they did not make their 90's league playoffs. For those that are still alive in the 90's, if you make the 90's finals you get 5 points, and if you win the 90's championship you get an additional 5 points.

I'll post some details of the plan and rules for the finals championship league for the top 12 in the next couple of days.

OK, now that we are in the finals of the 90's we have 11 of the 12 spots accounted for in the final 12, by my unofficial count.

Here's what it looks like:

Clinched playoff before 90's playoffs began:
1. markmorrison
2. AdamKatz
3. sphilipp8
4. franky35
5. mburatti76
6. Rjnewman
7. brian straub

Clinched playoff during 90's semi-finals:
8. Spider 67 379 [current total, participating in 90's finals League 1]
9. Takanahana 377 [current total, participating in 90's finals in League 6]
10. hallerose 377 [current total, participating in 90's finals in League 9]
11. waynick 376 [Final total, not in 90's playoffs]

Currently in a playoff spot but not yet clinched:
12. Jimmy_C 375 [Final total, not in 90's playoffs]

Still alive:
13. SteadyEddie33 372 [current total, participating in 90's finals in League #8]

Eliminated during 90's semi-finals round:
bigdinkent 369 [Final total]
Lee300 373 [Final total, not in 90's playoffs]
FALCON29 369 [current total, participating in 90's finals in League #5]
jugslavin 375 [Final total, not in 90's playoffs]

So, Jimmy_C has become a huge fan of sakdl4, as he needs the sak-man to sack SteadyEddie33 in the 90's finals in League #8. The big comeback wins by Spider67 and hallerose last night not only kept them alive, it clinched them a spot in the final 12. Takanahana and waynick are also off the final 12 - congrats! Meanwhile, bigdinkent, Falcon29, jugslavin and former champ Lee300 have all been eliminated.

This is "unofficial" as I may have made a mistake. Later tonight I'll post a message about how the final championship round will work.

Juiced, Thanks for the update. I think for the past several years hallerose has posted the options for voting by the 12 finals teams. Now that he has made the finals, perhaps he could volunteer to fill that role again.

I think I'll post the voting options franky, because it might be easier for me to do since I'm not in the final 12. Besides, after being in the final 12 last year, there are a few of the options I'd prefer to make an executive decision on because I don't feel it should even go to a vote. More on that later.

Yes. I would be willing to have a team in the final 12. What would I need to do?

If anyone were to drop out, you would be the next qualifier. Brian Straub at one point suggested that he might not be able to participate and he was not able to participate in the message board draft, so he asked for someone to draft for him - which turned out to be the commissioner (JuicedJC). We are expecting Brian to return and complete the autodraft. So, we probably do not need a replacement in the final 12. However, please check in every few days to see where things stand. The message board draft will stop after either 12 or 14 rounds (yet to be determined) and at that time, we are going to have the autodraft, and then we'll know for sure if a replacement is needed.
