Just wanted to explain some rules for the 2 new managers and rehash for everyone else:
1) We ARE using a DH this season
2) you can use any ballpark in the set, it does not have to be affiliated with one of your teams.
3) There are no NEL players with the exception of Satchel Paige who has a card with the Indians
4) Regarding players who have cards for more than one franchise; If the manager who has the rights to the players highest salaried card does not have him on his roster once the season starts, then the manager with the second highest card may opt to pick up said player via free agency, this manager may use any one of the players cards; for example; Ghost has chosen the Reds, if the Yankees who have the rights to Paul O'Neil do not have him on their roster once the season starts then the Reds could pick him up and use his Yankee card if they so desired. Same for Frankmansueto who has Oakland, if the Cardinals don't put McGwire on their roster, Oakland could then pick him off the waiver wire and use anyone of McGwires cards. You must have at least one card on your franchise in order to pick up a player in this manner.
The reason we wait for the start of the season is to give managers some time during the preseason to play with their rosters and make adjustments. The only exception to this rule is if a manager tells you in the preseason he has no intention of using a player , you may pick him off the waiver wire; sort of a gentlemans agreement.
If you have your eyes on a player, and you think you might pick him up once the season starts, it's a good idea to put aside the necessary cash so that you don't take a cap hit.
Hope this clarifies some rules.
