My Pop

PostWed Jul 17, 2013 3:24 am

Passed away on July 16, 2013 at noon. My next Barnstormers team will be dedicated to him. He went peacefully since he went to bed Sunday and didn't wake up. We had his life support removed Monday at around 4:30 PM after the doctors of course earlier had told us there was nothing they could do for him, so he lasted almost 20 hours on his own.

Also sorry for your loss Andy. I lost my Dad just about a year ago. He was 85. He didnt get involved in things too much, but he surprised me once and decided to coach a little league team. Being a little leaguer, it was a rule that I had to play on his team. He didn't have much experience doing this sort of thing, but we went on to win the league with a 14-2 record.

He never did anything like this before or after that season. It was one I will never forget.

God bless all of our Dads.

Please accept my belated condolences as well.

I lost my Dad several years ago. He was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan. He still followed the team and rooted for them after they moved to LA, but he grew up with the Brooklyn teams and favored them the most.

Did your Pop have a favorite team? Favorite players? A favorite era? The best thing about the ATG VII set is huge and memorable number of players we have to choose from. Perhaps you could include a few of your Pop's favorites in your next Event team and blend them in with your other choices. You might get a lot of enjoyment from managing that team, and I believe your Pop would be proud to be honored in that way.

Peace to you and your family.

No favorite team. Only sports fan in the family is me. He was a professor of chemistry at IIT which is just about next door to the cell.

Don't know if this link works if it does here is the that was drafted:

My Dad's name was Peter. Our first dog was named Sparky and he loved my Dad.

Stargell and Musial were on my draft card because of their nicknames.

Never had a team win it all in all the time I have been doing Barnstormers be great if this team does win it all!!!!!

League starts tomorrow night. Just crunched the points of my pitchers. Wonder if Vuckovich will win any games?

Just did the hitters this is going to be my strangest team ever. Not use to having so many hitters in the lineup that can be hurt for 15 games. Though I also have 3 hitters who can't get hurt and 2 more who can only get hurt for rest of the game. Should be an interesting season. :)
