This occurred in a 70s league that I recently participated in, but the player in question was not on my team.

The relief pitcher who pulled this off is a $1.10 player, Tom Walker. :o

For the record, Tom Walker had 11 career saves, with a season high of 4 saves.

P.S. Tom Walker is the father of current MLB player Neil Walker.

It's interesting that five, maybe six, "1" fielders quite possibly were on the field in late innings when Walker got his 26 saves. Defense does matter. Above average team defense allows pitchers to approach, maybe surpass, their real life performance in pitcher-friendly ballparks.
