Reading mystery cards

Just wondering.... I think I remember reading the rolls to figure out which year on a players card I had. Is my mind deceiving me or is this the way it was done? Been a long time but now I know they (SOM) don't allow you to see the rolls. :roll:

If a player gets injured you can frequently narrow the years down by type of out.
