Stargell’s 75 card Ball park HR’s

PostSat Sep 07, 2019 2:47 am

Why does Stargell’s 75 card have ballpark symbols without the 2nd alternative? What are the outcomes? Never seen that before?
#10- HOMERUN
#11- fly(rf)B?

What do you mean by 2nd alternative? With the BPHR symbol in the online SOM game you simply refer to the stadium BPHR rating and it would either be a HR or a fly out (since he is an N power) no matter what result is printed on the player card.

As far as the online SOM game is concerned the player card could simply have the # symbol and nothing else because that is how it is played. The printed result on the card is meaningless if there is a BPHR symbol before it.

Wouldn’t be concerned except Willie has 2 HR/127 AB and 0/2 BPHR in Yankee Stadium?/

Alternatively, SOM could have put a HR 1-12* chance on both the 10 and 11 rolls, and it would be exactly the same chance for those playing cards and dice version of the game AND NOT USING BALLPARK EFFECTS.

What is listed after the # symbol has absolutely zero effect on the online game
(or when playing cards and dice using ballpark effects for that matter). The online game uses ballpark effects, so the HOMERUN after the 10 or the fly(rf)B? after the 11 have absolutely no effect on our online game.

*By the way, it's no coincidence Three Rivers Stadium (Stargell's real-life home ballpark) has a 1-12 homerun chance for left-handed batters.

I actually started a long response to this a couple of days ago, but let me just give you the TL;DR response:

Bad luck!
