Second guessing HBP reveal

PostSun Dec 09, 2018 12:36 pm

Does this hint still apply:

HBP - Batters can be HBP only from their card. If a batter is HBP, look at each of their years that can get that result. Sometimes you can eliminate years that do not have a HBP result using this method.

Kal Daniels (https://365.strat-o-matic.com/player/832746/1680/1/80) got hurt striking out against a lefty. During the season he's been HBP on more than one occasion. This reveals the 1990 season but he's performing more like the 1991 season.

I see what you are saying. If his injury was on a strikeout and he's been hit by pitch then he must be 90

I have Larry Parrish batting .186 on his 1979 card...don't trust HAL.

The HBP in your quote is just an example. HBPs do not injure players unless there is a "plus injury" that comes with it. Since you a strikeout plus injury you have either 90 or 91. If he later (or previously) gets hit by a pitch, you can rule out 91 because there is no HBP on his 91 season. To repeat: If you roll a plain vanilla HBP (i.e., no "not injury" that comes with it) then you cannot get injured.
