HAL's late inning defensive flip-flopping

PostWed Mar 15, 2017 4:29 pm

It had been awhile since I had played BTT 80s, and I had forgotten about something that seems more particular to this set than the other decade mystery games. I'll illustrate with my specific example:

On my 80s Mystery Tournament team I have Leon Durham (3e14) playing 1B, and Bruce Bochte at 4(+2)e4 playing LF. Bochte is a little bit better defensively at 1B (3e11), but Durham is a 4e12 in LF. I would rather have a poor throwing arm (Bochte) in LF than someone more likely to drop the ball (Durham). Oh, and Danny Tartabull is my DH, where I would like to keep him.

So a couple of times so far HAL has pinch hit for one of my other hitters, usually the SS. But whenever HAL inserts my backup SS into the game the following inning, HAL also automatically switches Bochte and Durham, which I don't want. Any good way to avoid having this happen any time a bench move is made? Thanks.
