I'm sorry for your loss, Moose.

One question about the Semi's, does the stadium rule apply. That is, do we need to use the one stadium grouping that we haven't used yet?

I hadn't even thought about division placements, just random as usual.

I don't think even the new commish tools for private leagues has a way to do that manually. If it were to happen the way that has been listed, it would have to be passed over to SOM.

Will think about this.

Stadium penalties no longer exist in the Semi's - we want your best team possible. Use any.

I like this idea - gives Top 92 advancing instead of just 81. If the number of participants continues to be high, this gives us more credits wrangled from SOM and rewards particularly the Top 9-20.

Any objections to this for 2022 ?

Thanks to all for the kind words. Mom will finally lie next to Dad on Dec 2 in Scottsdale AZ.

but wont this get right back to the problem of the top 12 all playing for 1 slot in the finals, while teams 20-92 now get to share 3 spots?

So sorry for your loss, Rick. Many of us have faced, or will face, these challenges in our lives. All us BST gymrats really appreciate the hard work you and your Board do behind the scenes to make the Tourney -- and its website pages -- work so well and look so good.

Is there a way to integrate the proposals from Frankie T and Chris S? Having one of the Semis leagues at 12 instead of 24 complicates the strategeree as I see it.

You might want to go with 4 24-team leagues instead of 1 at 12 and 3 at 24. Or just stay with 3 Semis at 24 teams. You and the Tourney already seem to bring A HELLUVA LOT of extra business in -- so Strat HQ should agree to a few extra (96 + 8) Credits for all who get to play on after Round 6.

Anyway, I also like the bracketing structure discussed above. Strat HQ makes its money in the main tourney since the Free Credit means all those who have to play a Semi round play it free. If Strat HQ is game to award a few more Credits next year, then you'll have the flexibility to announce even more inducements for maybe an even bigger Tourney in 2022.

Yeah I'm not sure I'd like my chances in a 12-team league with ranks 9-20 all that much better than a 24-team league with ranks evenly spread out. I suppose it's an advantage. But it does seem odd to restrict the top 12 semifinalists to only one finalist.

eta: Then again, you could also look at it as guaranteeing a finals spot to one of the top 12. I can see the logic.
