yah that sucks. i didn't expect lab to pick duren on the swing around, figured i could get hecker and duren no problem. at this point im turning pedro into a star, going with 4 aces, and burning hecker. i planned to go lefty team if bonds was around pick 3, and small ball otherwise. i don't love small ball without one of speaker, delahanty, honus, or lajoie so i am officially sinking the small ball ship right now. my official new target is something ive been doing a lot of work on... 4 aces and big boppers. let's see how that one plays out.

PS... if i kick your a** AGAIN this year (emphasis on AGAIN), am i still lucky, or just that much better than you?

Ott in the third. Fascinating but perhaps ill advised. You still pick ahead of Lab in round 4 and Ott would likely still be there as only Lab is a lock so far for a lefty team. Of course that excludes you, since that is obviously now your plan.

all kidding aside, i've never been nearly as pissed off in a barnstormers draft as when duren went on the wrap around.... that was a dagger...

I considered Duren in Round 2 but he just didn't fit my plans, for reasons that will become clear later.

There can't ever be a plan that includes Piniero and doesn't include Duren. Same comment for a plan with Pedro and Hecker and not Duren or Pineiro. I don't like Henry enough to draft him 3rd round and both you and tmfw like him plenty that he would have never made it back to me. I like Ott because of his flexibility. The 3L is a stud at 3B or RF and a couple of the other cards are a stud on the OF too, in the event that my division ends up being righty starter heavy. Flexibility matters more than anything else since our divisions are random. You had zero chance of getting Sutter in the 3rd.

I agree on the flexibility piece but I still think Ott would have been there next round and you could have snagged the 10.30 Morgan, who as you pointed out last year, is highly adaptable to several strategies. Don't think he'll be there for you next round...

It is near impossible to get Pineiro and Duren in an autodraft any more so I have been forced to devise strategies based on having only one of them. As you will see, maybe by round 6 or so. And Sutter will surely give me 300 high quality innings.

Yah I will probably take Morgan next. At this point it doesn't really matter to me, most of what's left is completely interchangeable. I would rather be allowed to redo my first 3 picks and skip the remainder of the draft if I could know which 3 would be in my division.

We need to lobby for that next year...

Took mornings off today and tomorrow, but I gotta go to work now, no SOM access there. Be back around 5 p.m. I can make picks because I commandered a Mifi and downloaded the SOM app to my cell phone, but since I absolutely refuse to ever text, I will email Moose with my picks if I am up before 5 p.m.
