What is the over under on how many rounds we get tonight? What time do you think the last pick will be made before this gets shut off for the night (EST) and should I drink some coffee which will probably keep me up all night.

Well it just takes one inconsiderate person to muck up the works. I will be in bed by 11 p.m, no reason to stay up after that. We could easily finish two rounds if people cooperate, but I don't think it will get back to you tonight, so you can forego the insomnia. It would also help to have the picks listed here as the draft site has been taking up to a half hour to refresh...

Wouldn't know. Haven't seen the draft site for a while, can't get in.

Thanks.

Davis was a good pick. One of my absolute favorite players and particularly good given the lefty slant. I would have taken him with my 4th or 5th round pick if he was available. On the other hand, left field is pretty deep.

I suspect Andy has seen him on too many of my teams.

I wouldn't have taken Thompson just because of the injury issue. The 7.98 Wagner is worth the risk as that card is a far better small ball value relative to anyone else at SS and there is a surfeit of cheap backups at SS that can spell him, or even Ward if you want to invest more. Thompson may hit 40 triples and knock in lots of small ball runs, but he is an expensive dh and not a great fielder and that arm hurts a lot for small ball teams. He's kind of a boom or bust guy. I stay away from guys like him in big events as 1 point of 15 game injury risk often means they go down for 15 early and keep getting injured. Happened to Jennings in Event 1 of this years tour if I recall and had to rework the whole team as a result. My thing is, if you believe that you are better than most of the field, why roll the dice with injuries. But if you don't then you should gamble as you did.

The Diamond Dope draft doesn't get shut off, even when the clock isn't running. It allows picks to be made all night long if needed.

Thompson fits in with my strategy, unless someone like Gibson comes around again. I'm not sure I will be able to resist him. Then I'll be playing with fire. Also I'll take my chances with one corner outfielder with a weak arm. If he hits 40 triples then he will probably drive in 130 runs. Whoever bats behind him will also get many opportunities to drive in a lot of runs.
