Gee Chrissie, you're only 30 years old and already your memory is failing, either that or you just can't keep track of your endless prevarications.

http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1447698 This was your team from last years BS finals.

And your 100M team from 2017 event 1: http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1444575 with 2 super relievers.

Despite having Vaughan and Bonds (must have sucked today those two going in the top four picks and your bff Mondesi getting snatched up between them too) Morgan, Musial and DiMaggio you could only manage to score 824 runs in a park designed to showcase lefties. That would seem to take a special kind of stupid to pull that one off.

You know you can run tens of thousands of simulations on the ATG set. Problem is they all have HAL as the manager. So ya gotta wonder how that might skew the results... Just sayin'.

you are right, the picks that went before me stung badly. worst ever. for this league, my top 2 picks were bonds #1 and vaughan #2. far and away those were my top 2, with a ton of space between them and my 3rd pick. oh well. as for mondesi, i would have taken him 3rd round on my own. had i known that he would go first round, i would have taken him first round, but that's what i get for hitting cruise control on the regular season.

then i was toying between maddux and koufax and last minute decided on maddux. there is no secret, lefty teams are the most dominant and righty 2nd most dominant. but it is hard to justify drafting a lefty team when bond and vaughan both went ahead of me. i am glad i didn't as we have the potential for 6 lefty teams so far, as bonds, vaughan, williams, ruth, johnson, and koufax all went. but that's why i love the finals and live drafts, i have no idea what park i'm drafting until about the 6th round.

Everything depends on matchups. I won't know what park I am taking for a while either. So one shouldn't know one's planned park at the outset of a draft, you go with the flow and the possibilities narrow after a few rounds. It is too bad that we don't know divisions though. Forced to draft in the dark there, which presents it's own, albeit unwanted, challenges.

Almost took Ruth first, he actually plays well for Bernie Ward and I was certain he would take him if he was available. Didn't want that as he beat me badly in round 6 of the tour with Ruth dominating. That was a painful lesson in the supremacy of Ruth over Williams. I wasn't kidding about wanting flexibility with the first pick and that tipped the scales to Pedro. I also toyed with Bonds as first pick. He is a mainstay of Nomadbrad's teams and he has done very well with him, but like Ruth he tends to incline one to certain parks, arguably a premature narrowing of choices. Having first pick and somewhat of a target on my back given my high profile and outspokenness, I thought it would be suicidal to narrow my options with no input into the next 22 picks, with Bonds or Ruth. With Pedro and his 10.85M card, I'm still good even in Minute Maid, but can really destroy lefties with his 9M card. Still have all options on the table depending on how the draft develops. Couldn't really ask for more from the first pick.

Oh and just for the record, I won't mind at all missing out on Sutter and Murray. I expect them to be drafted with picks 12 and 13. The relief pool is very solid now and I believe that it obviates the 4 10M * and no bullpen strategy, a reason why Maddux is a better pick than Koufax. Also Koufax narrows you right away to either small ball or lefty parks. Not so much an issue later in the first round, but we will see what develops.

Been trying for over a half hour now to 'refresh' the draft site. Might be helpful if the picks are listed here concurrently with DD. A lot easier to follow the draft that way.

Finally got in. See that 4 picks were made. Very good job by #12, surprised though about him not doubling up on Sutter and Murray. I can't tell you how many times he has done that, granted though, not so much of late.

I would have taken Lajoie or Wagner myself with picks 11 or 12. Actually upon further reflection, Pineiro might not have been the best choice given the prevalence of lefty oriented picks so far.

i thought my biggest nightmare was that bonds and vaughan went before i got to pick. even worse for me is the speed of this draft. i need like 1 day in between each round to tinker. this is moving way too fast.

i think you are right, though. i am going to be forced to draft morgan 2nd round. i wouldn't think of it til 4th round under normal circumstances. but, lefties are flying off the board, and i might have no choice but to waste an early pick on him.

I though Don would take Wagner with the third pick.

don couldn't take wagner 3rd pick. he was too busy being a greedy SOB and making sure i didn't get my bread and butter, mondesi...
