cool papa

PostSat Sep 01, 2012 5:00 pm

I've never tried an all-NeL lineup before ... thought it might be fun. How is Cool Papa Bell as a leadoff hitter in an 80 million league? Right now I have this lineup in Royals 80:

CF Bell
SS Lloyd
1b Jud Wilson
LF Willard Brown
RF Chino Smith
3B Scales
C Mackey
2B Seay

I'm tempted to move Brown to CF and use Oscar Heavy Johnson in LF. He's absolutely killing for me in another league. But of course there's the defensive tradeoff, and I already have one major def liability at 3B.

I don't know ... just curious about Bell.

I've used him a few times and he performs well for me in Forbes.

I wish I had access to my old teams. I think he's great, though.

Understandably, Beckwith might be too much salary for an $80 mil cap. But Cool Papa has usually done well for me in the leadoff spot.

Could move Jud to third, and try some other options at first.

Buck Leonard is a solid choice for 1b

I forget how to do the team link (... you'd think I'd know after playing this game for 10 years).

I have a low-budget staff, but hopefully they''ll be adequate:

Kaat, Hughson, Higbe, Weaver
Page, Works, Roberts, Linzy

Probably not enough invested in pitching, but I'm just curious to see how an all-NeL lineup will do in Royals.

I hadn't thought of moving Wilson to third. I've never used Scales, but I know a couple of managers who swear by him (Munich Man seems to like him a lot). I'm all for the idea of improving defense and going with Leonard, but he might me a shade out of my price range. Unless I further downgrade pitching ... Any suggestions?

Go to your league standings and right-click on your team, then copy the link address. Voila!
