This one beats the official ATG record books by 10 runs! It is however, not eligible for the record books at they only list 80M and 100M games, this was 140M.

What bothers me about this game, which I lost by 1 run after being up by 9 going into the bottom of the ninth, is that Bettancourt, slated for both set up and closer and who appeared in only one game in the previous 7 games and did not pitch the day before, sits on the bench, while Tomlin gets hammered for 10 runs, after being slated for a quick hook and already at F0 in 8th inning.

I have no words for HAL's managerial ineptness.

It looks like Betancourt threw 59 pitches 2 games before this slugfest. While I dont think its ever been stated, and it might not be a hard cutoff, empirically at least I thought the cutoff for needing 2 games rest was 60 pitches. This would point to it being slightly less than that. But yes, HAL's managing ineptness is legend.

Well heck Druid--I just posted a similar annoyance on pitch fatigue. I am fatigued by pitch fatigue.

WOW !!! Amazing...

Even more amazing is that there were only 5 Hrs in 66 hits by both teams... in Stars Park !!!

Tough break, losing a game like that. Sorry 'bout your luck with that. It must have been that "normalization boogie man", again punishing you for being too good.... lol...

You guys asked for this. Somehow "super relievers" were less realistic than players hitting 90 HRs or SPers pitching 360 innings.... Now you have no control over your bullpen. Sorry 'bout your luck with that.

Good point.

However, as I favor good starting pitching, I certainly don't miss those high-powered offensive teams with crap starters and a couple of dynamite super relievers.

It seems to me if someone like the extremely egotistical Last Droid really wanted to prove he was the best ( actually he's not even in the top 30) he would be willing to try a different set of cards he hasn't played 2000 times.

If we really wanted to see who was the best, we would have to all compete in a brand new set, ( example 1969 , 1982, or 2021) where no one has the advantage of playing 1000 times more than anyone else. Just a thought.

Of course I know this will never happen because some people are absolutely terrified of stepping outside their comfort zone and giving up their advantage.

Even still my record against Droid, even in his set is much better than his record against me. But if he were to ever play ANY OTHER set, even one none of us have played, he would be destroyed and not just by me...

And don't even get me started on the Mystery or Daily leagues, he wouldn't even finish in the top 50.

Of course he could always TRY and prove me wrong,... but I won't hold my breath.
