Hornsby v. Lajoie...Thoughts

PostMon Oct 04, 2021 1:21 pm

I have had much success while using Nap 11.94, the few times I have tried using Hornsby my teams have failed miserably....granted there are other variables as well.

Your ballpark and league salary cap will be an important factor. (Assuming an $80M cap): If it's a singles park, I'd go with Nap, as long as you are not risk-averse and can live with the possible 15 game injuries. If it's more of a HR park, then I guess I'd go with Hornsby if forced to choose between the two. But I'm like you: I've had mostly miserable luck with Hornsby. As a general rule, irrespective of HR's, the more singles my ballpark allows, the greater my inclination to have a "1" at 2B.

Ball park is Hilltop,,,so RH power...cap 125...using 1929 Hornsby...12.19 mill. Only bc of the potential HR's did I choose to go with Hornsby...I will probably hate myself for doing that...we will definitely know in about 56 days...lol

I think that's his slowpoke card (1-11 on the bases). But you have those big fat outright HR's staring at you on the 7's which is really appetizing! If only you could get those walks slid down to the middle of the 2 column then that card would truly be dangerous. (Of course, then it would also cost a million or so more!)

Yep you're correct...I also chose it because the pretty colors on the graph below extended further than Nap's AND the red area was much bigger...lol

Ahoy,

I like the pretty colors....
Also have experienced badness with Hornsby - kind of strange but then there is the mystery of HAL.
