Brouhard's card is different in ATG vs 1982

PostSun Feb 07, 2021 8:31 am

Perhaps this has been covered and beaten to death, but why would the outcomes on a card not be identical for the same player and year combo in different player sets. Check out how dramatically different Mark Brouhard's 1982 card is in the 1982 set vs. ATG.

Only played with Milwaukee that year and same stat line and splits (I assume) for both.

Looks like the '82 set is a cadillac version with full stat research. The ATG card is one of the versions generated for ATG without full research. I would imagine we can say goodbye to the 9L card in a future version of ATG and those cards will get replaced with the cadillac versions.

Whoopycat I have been imagining that same thing for a long time. Unfortunately once a chevy card gets in to the set it rarely gets replaced. Actually, I do not remember a single one.

There have been a handful of cards that have been switched out, the three that come into mind that were switched in the transition between ATG 7 and ATG8 are:

Arky, E. Mathews and one of Mantle's cards....I'm sure there are a few more that I am missing, so it does happen on rare occasion.

Biggest change to me was 61 Maris. I used to love that card, now I never use him.

Yeah, I was thinking of the 1961 cards and maybe a few of the 70s season cards have been swapped out.

So the 1961 Blanchard ATG card used to be the mystery set card? What a huge difference.
