Oldtimer Teams (1927 Yankees, etc.)

PostTue Oct 22, 2019 7:43 pm

I don't know if I'm putting this question in the correct thread, but:

The dice version SOM baseball game has some great old-timer team sets from various years such as the 1906 Cubs, 1924 Senators, 1927 Yankees, 1934 Cardinals, 1935 Cubs, 1961 Yankees, 1954 Indians, 1953 Dodgers, 1954 Giants, and many more... Does SOM plan to ever produce these sets for the online game? It would be a lot of fun.

Most of those players are in the ATG set. In the initial first 2-3 years of ATG, ATG was made up of Team rosters from great teams of the past like you mentioned. The players from those teams made up the player pool.

So, the title All-Time Greats referred to All-Time Great TEAMS.

That's why, every so often, someone with no knowledge of the past of ATG will say, "Ernie Andres is not an ALL-TIME GREAT! Why is he in the set?"
He is in ATG because the 1946 Red Sox were in the All-Time Greats set way back in ATG1.

Ok, thanks. So we can construct many of those teams.

Of the ones you listed, off the top of my head I think only the 1935 Cubs aren't all there.
