Hi Bruce,

Thanks for writing in about this. We have reviewed the league and are removing this entire league from the Monthly Challenge. Clearly this league setup is not in the spirit of the game. We appreciate you writing in about it and good luck in the challenge if you decide to create a team!

Sincerely,

This is not actually fixing the underlying problem of how different types of leagues easily game the Monthly Challenge system, as was pointed out in several responses to this thread.

The manager in question, gladurealty , is in my Barnstormers E2 league! I must admit I took a little extra delight in sweeping him tonight! :)

He's not a big threat in Barnstormers either. Currently sitting in 151st place.

One thing this weirdo league provides is a lab experiment in just how well a team with a budget of 25M that uses apparently randomly chosen players can expect to fare against teams that include one with a 285M budget featuring nothing but all time greats.

The 25M San Francisco Progressives (managed by Clinton) currently has a record of 3-30, and the 56M Stupid Socialists (managed by Sanders) has a record of 7-26. Meanwhile, the 285M USA Pathfinders, which includes 19 players costing 10M or more, is 30-3.

It may be wrong to bring this up, but based on the team-names of the absurdly underfunded teams, and on their manager names as well, one may be able to detect certain political predilections in whoever has cooked up this unusual league. The "Progressives" and "Socialists" both belong to an owner named "Prodigy" who has no completed teams. Another owner named MAGA (owning two teams in this league) also has no completed teams.

This further suggests that the league may be the brainchild of a single player lurking under a series of sock-puppet aliases. ;)

And back to the topic at hand--there is no valid reason for multi-team owner leagues to have any impact on career stats, credits, or any other meaningful competitive metric, because these are not competitive leagues by design.

Although it is great SOM responded promptly, what was missing is a sustained approach that prevents this from happening in these cases. I think they have good faith in avoiding it, but how that will be done wasn't detailed.

If it is up to the community, or SOM to pick it out and point it out, that is bound to be a net with big holes.

But great catch and thanks to Druid/Bruce.
