ATG 8. $100M. Double franchise expansion era. Braves and Mariners.

Who has won their division and / or the championship with a regular season losing record? My team was dominating in beating a 94 win team in the first round (4 - 2) and a 92 win team in the finals (sweep).

Been there, done that ...

Seriously pretty much the exact same thing, LOL, 77 win team that got hot in the playoffs. Makes up for the 108 win teams that gets out of the semis I guess. Definitely the lowest win team I've ever had win a ring. And the lowest I've heard of except for yours.

I'm sure someone out there had a better worst team.

Wow! First, thanks for posting. I was really hoping someone had a similar season. But, your roster moves are about as extreme as I've ever seen. I have to take my hat off to your effort. I guess it worked. ;-). I just sat back and watched after some comparatively insignificant moves.

Maybe the most unusual element of my sub .500 team was having the 2nd best road record in the league. ...And the 2nd worst home record.

There's a new leader in the clubhouse with 76 wins. Wow.

And, he made a ton of changes to his roster, too. Both of you guys were operating on about 90% of the league salary cap.

Yeah. I'm guilty of often doing that. I get frustrated with how a team is performing, or just plain bored. So I'll rip a team apart. Team building has always been my favorite part of the game, anyway. Honestly, it works about maybe 10% of the time. That particular team had no business winning it all, but just got hot right towards the end of the season and carried it through the playoffs.

To me, if a team is "flawed" you try to fix it. I never give up until it's beyond hope. Sometimes you just built a bad team and sometimes there was something you didn't expect going into the season.

And ff a team is out of contention with no hope, you experiment with guys you always wanted to try.

Funny thing is I was his opponent in the finals. He was actually the home team cause I was wildcard. had a 3 to 2 lead and off course was another sbdl loss to me in finals where I am ahead and can't get game 4 win.
