Alabaster blaster - Pittsburghese for a bltimore chop, coined by "The Old Gunner" (Bob Prince, Pirates' broadcaster for about 30 years)
Texas Leaguer - hit just a little farther than a duck snort, but where the OF can't quite get to it.
Hoover - double play ball

Another term heard recently:

A slop drop: A slow curve just nicking the black on home plate and called for a third strike!!

Oh yeah, the Gunner also had the 'Green Weenie' in the mid sixties! A rally sparker!!!

A Lawrence Welk: A triple play! "A one anna, two anna, anna three"... or a 3 strike at bat..

Oh yeah, what's all this about speeding up the game? I never found out who wants it or who is complaining about it. The game is wayyyyy over 140 years old and somebody all of a sudden doesn't like it!??!! Who are these guys!!??!! Cry babies!!!

Sincerely,
Delivery Boy...
