This has probably been answered many times before but I can't find a question similar using the search bar.

Really I'm curious about the starters who can also be used in relief. My main question is, can they pitch in back to back games? For example, if a S7*/R3 starts game 1, can he come back in relief in games 2 and 3 of the series?

If he starts, he would need normal rest (3 games for an * SP, 4 games for a non-* SP) before he can relieve. If he relieves and has not relieved in two consecutive games, he could start the next game. If he relieved in 2 consecutive games, he would need one day of rest before he could start.
