I am trying to put together a $100M small ball team. I am in Forbes 17/17 1/1, I have the following

Kelly, King
Collins or Morgan
Browning
Sisler
Zimmerman
Wagner
Bresnahan
Hamilton $4M version as DH

Wanted Delahanty but taken by someone else, so my options are

Ted Williams, Tip O'Neil, Heilmann, or Simmons. Have around $9M+

Ok experts who should I take for LF and should I take Collins or Morgan, leaning towards Morgan and Ted Williams, but my small ball teams have been so bad I need help!!! Any other suggestions on the other players or other options for LF don't hesitate.

take 7.97 collins and 7.98 wagner (get cheap backup) Collins bullett proof...Take Teddy Ball game...and you should have some extra cash for some pitching...dump zimmerman for high priced Buck Weaver...dump Breshnan for good d catcher like Archer....now you should have some extra cash to bolster offense or starting and bullpen pitching... by no means an expert but just a thought...

I'd take Heilmann over Williams. I don't like Williams for small ball. Where are you going to bat him? He has a high OBP, but if you bat him high in the lineup he'll clog up the base paths. He's not very cost effective at driving runs in because of all of his walks. I'd take Heilmann and bat him 4th or 5th behind your speed guys.

I prefer Collins (10.49) over Morgan, although if you're facing lots of rightys (and there are homer parks in the league) then the 10.30 version of Morgan is better.

I would switch Wagner to the 6.55 dh card move Hamilton to lf or upgrade and pu Vaughn or Jennings if available for ss

I like the idea of going from the cheaper Collins and using the money to upgrade from the cheaper Wagner to Jennings. I wish Heilmann was faster than a 13 but that is a lot faster than WIlliams at a 9. So I would take Heilmann as suggested.

Like the $4M version of Hamilton because there is no one else at that level that fits as well into the lineup.

Kelly
Collins $7M
Jennings
Sisler
Heilmann
Browning
Zimmerman
Bresnhan
Hamilton $4M

How is that above for a lineup. Keep the ideas coming, thanks for the help.

Wagner $6.55 card is the best value small-ball card there is. Injury risk and poor defense certainly, but more than compensated by outstanding primary small ball factors like singles, doubles, triples and stolen bases.

You didn't say whether it was a DH league. If it is, take the cheaper Wagner, use Collins at 2B and Heilmann in LF. If no DH, just take Collins and Heilmann.

If you can afford Wagner over Hamilton at DH do it. If not use him at 3rd over Zimmerman

Look for Richie Ashburn if he's available.

Must be more small ball 'experts' than I would have imagined.
