Garcia's Blog 7/20/18

PostFri Jul 20, 2018 7:51 am

Hi Gang!!

Sorry I've been gone for a while, still putting out fires caused by the 4th of July fireworks and accessing the property damage for fraudulent insurance claims. Oh yeah, that job opening is still taking applications for those seeking part time work. Since it's not full time and you are fired, you don't get benefits. That's the catch. Well maybe a CD ROM game as a parting gift. However, you can still spend what little pay you got on a 5-team PACK!

Here it is!!!
http://www.strat-o-matic.com/community/ ... -job-alert

(We do require a 3.0 GPA, but actually be stupid enough to work for us. It's sort of a 2-way street).

Let's get back to the game! A new limited edition ALL-STAR game is being put in the works for this year where you can actually talk to the players on the field!!!! Just type in a player's name and interview him while playing on the BETA game!!! (Is that still around?). Just set up a microphone on your speaker, download our 'All-Star' app, and YOUR READY! Just $79.95 and we'll even toss in a 5-pack!!! What a DEAL!

Next is our bullpen situation. OK, you are tired of that lefty specialist coming in late in the game and facing an all-righty lineup giving up runs and putting the game out of reach. The 'avoid RH hitter' box actually means 'avoid them if you can'. Our computer puts in the cheapest reliever at the time so the closer can be available at the end of the game to actually close the game out!! That's what you put him in for! Who cares if you won or lost!

Next, TEAM TRASHING!!! Your team went 44-28 in the opening first half! Great! Then, go on a 3-25 losing streak and you are at wit's end trying to fix it! No changes were made in strategy and no players dropped. As a general rule, we take over a team whose owner in a tournament went above the 10% salary cap in free agent transactions. We take over, reset the team, and go on another 16 game losing streak meanwhile you take the blame for being a poor sport. Once again, you drafted the wrong players! Solution: buy more 5-team packs and keep trying! Losing builds character and our bank account!

That's all for right now. Be sure to keep in contact with our support team when we hire one. (see job opening).

Sincerely,
Delivery Boy...

What about the monthly lottery of five members who get a free credit? There hasn't been a list of winners since February, therefore twenty five of us should be named as winners for March through July. :o

What subjects would you like 'Garcia's Blog' to discuss next week if there is still no word from John? Yeah, I know this is dangerous territory but we will not be ignored!

I dunno, we've been ignored for so long it would just be odd for someone to pay any attention prior to the entire thing imploding.

One part of this thread is (inadvertently) in somewhat questionable taste. The job opening Richman had a minion post is to replace the recently deceased african-american guy who manned the window at Glen Head where you pick up SOM orders, at least since I started doing that in 1976. He was one the only pleasant SOM employee that I ever encountered at SOM during my annual Spring pilgrimage to pick up the latest set of cards or in my attempts to get some customer service for the computer game. He seemed to wear a lot of hats in addition to being their front line guy who dealt with the public in person. Sorry to hear of his passing.

Now if it had been anyone else there...

I have to say that's sad to hear-- and certainly am not blaming said person for the things that are wrong with the online game and lack of customer service for it etc...
