Unique FRANCHISE ALL-STAR League - PUBLIC League

PostWed Nov 22, 2017 1:26 pm

Player Set: ATG 8
Skill Level: Advanced
Draft type: Auto List Draft
Salary Cap: $200,000,000
FA Drop Penalty: 5/10/20%
Managers may own multiple teams: no
DH Rule: yes
Waivers: yes
Postseason Format: 2 rounds: Best-of-7, Best-of-7
Opening Day: TBD

Description: The rules are simple because there is only ONE unique rule here: RULE: You can NOT have duplicate franchises on your roster come opening day. Every player on your squad must be from a UNIQUE franchise (THE SPECIFIC CARD YOU USE IS WHAT COUNTS). Angles, Athletics (Oak OR Phil A's), Blue Jays, Braves (Atl, Boston, or Milw), Brewers, Cardinals, Cubs, Diamondbacks, Dodgers (LA or Bklyn), Expos, Giants, Indians, Negro Leagues (ONLY ONE), Mariners, Marlins, Mets, Orioles/Browns (This is 1 franchise), Padres, Phillies, Pirates, Rangers, Rays, Red Sox, Reds, Rockies, Royals, Senators (all inclusive), Tigers, Twins, White Sox, Yankees. ....the other franchises (like Lady Baldwin of DTW) are also considered unique for this league. Sometimes the DROP DOWN LIST and the actual cards do not agree, please refer to BASEBALL-REFERENCE.COM if you are not sure. On Opening Night you team must have 24 players (or more) but with ALL UNIQUE CARDS/FRANCHISES. Again, it's the card you use. EXAMPLE: If you play Bond's SFG card then he counts as your GIANT and you can still pick another PIRATE because his Pirates is not used and will not count. You must maintain this unique roster during the season as well thus, if you drop a player you must pick up a player from a Franchise you are not using. STADIUM: CHOOSE ANY STADIUM YOU WANT - NO RESTRICTIONS

Pacoboy: Great concept, but I have some questions. What about players who played for more than 1 franchise? Extreme examples are Kenny Lofton (11 franchises) and Rickey Henderson (9 franchises). Do they count against all franchises for which they played or do we pick just one of those franchises for them to represent? Does the franchise on the card control or do the franchises played for control? If the franchise on the card controls, what about players with cards for different franchises? Does the franchise of the card selected control, or can we claim any franchise for which a player is carded and use any card, even if it doesn't match the franchise we are claiming? Please let us know, and cite examples, if possible, so that we are all clear on the parameters of this concept ahead of time. - Bernie

The CARD you use will be considered the Franchise. In your example, if you use Ricky Henderson's Oakland A's card then that's your one ATHLETIC player - you are now done with OAKLAND A's or PHILADELPHIA A's cards. If you use Hornsby's CARDINALS card, then the Cardinals are done but if you use his CUBS card, the CUBS are closed out for you but you still can take a Cardinal.
