Maybe stupid question, but when I am looking at players by team, how do I differentiate between AL and NL? For example, Boston and St Louis?

When you are in the search free agents box use the by TEAM search.
For each franchise there are two data bases of franchise cards to choose from...

Here are the designations for teams with more than one franchise in a city:

Red Sox have BOS-pre and also BOS-db
Braves...use the two BSB data bases
Browns...use the two SLB data bases
Cardinals...use the two STL data bases
Cubs...use the two CHC data bases
White Sox...use the CHW data bases
Phillies...use the PHI data bases
A's...use the PHA data bases

The others not listed here are pretty easy I think.

Returning GMs from a prior season always have dibs on franchise "seats" over any new GM ...until that current season gets to game number 142...at that point it's completely first come first serve until we fill with 12 GMs.

We will be having our next season's franchise draft each season, franchise draft pick order set up at the current season's 141 game point. Reverse order of current season records. New GMs pick after returning GMs.

The next season's franchise draft will occur by email then. Run by me manually. All 16 franchises are available in each draft ...to the GM that has franchise pick number 1.

Then once we have the draft completed. I will create the new season at 365.
Week 1 game 1 of the new season will be the immediate Monday after the prior season ends...so the plan is...leagues will run back to back to back continually, with very little down time between regular league seasons. (Playoffs may overlap a little from prior season...)

I will also list new GMs below in order of the back up list...new GMs replace returning GMs who say they are not coming back...first come first serve.
The complete 12 locked in GMs for the upcoming season, will be announced at the current season's 142 game Mark.

The only way a current season GM gets the boot, and is not invited back for a following season ...is ...if it appears to all, that he did not actively try to manage all his players to the 120% rule...(Or if he goes awol when it's time to draft for the new upcoming season).
A minor mistake does not get you the boot. We can only control HAL so much.
(It won't be hard to tell who tried to micro manage usage well, and who didn't).
