I've been here all along.

A memory from ATG1 is a live draft. JoelPetrie beat Supertyphoon for the championship. Hank Aaron was the first pick. My ace was Mort Cooper at $10.17 go 27-9. TSN absolutely had the "normalization" box checked but had not yet publicly admitted it. They did soon after this league ended, but they said they would only give credits if you "PROVED" it adversely affected your team, which is absolutely moronic. They were very insistent on "proved". Once they admitted the box was checked, of course it affected everyone's teams.

Maybe you can remember your team from this list

Indeed the New York Knights. Thanks for the memories :)

Is the normalization box still checked by Strat?

I was here for ATG 1... I came in at the very end, had one team and was annihilated! lol! I valued cards by my favorite real Strat cards, not the simulated ones and was eaten alive. I had 65 Koufax in Jack Murphy and he lost 24 games :D ATG II I figured it out a bit and got my first two titles there. I miss not having the opportunities to do another season in one of those early leagues, the banter was also livlier then imo. Good stuff!

I'm been playing ATG since the beginning too - agree on earlier comments on the player pool - the frenzy was way more important in those days to save a bad draft but do like the expanded player pool - especially for franchise type leagues

Been playing since ATG1 and the days when everyone wanted Mays, Yount, Canseco and Mike Garcia. My forum ID was kenny_landreaux back then before we migrated to the new site.

I do miss ATG1 with everyone playing under the same rules ($80m, no DH). Leagues filled a lot quicker because of it, and the forum was more lively because we all played each other. I used to check the forum every day. Now it's once a month and if you try to start a thread topic to just talk about the games or cards it's like a tree falling in the forest.

I still play, usually 1-2 teams at a time at the most although now there are gaps where I go a couple months with no teams playing. And I still only play $80mil.

Present and accounted for. The key cog to my first championship teams were Bill Doran at leadoff and Cecil Cooper at 1b. Miss the old frenzy days, though the random time between 12am and 3am led to some long/short nights.

Looking back at some old teams, I think this might be ATG's first 30-game winner. If I recall, 32 wins was a record for a long time. http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1249917

...and here's 4 of a Kind in ATG3 http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/2928  :o 8-)

I was there in those days, I felt like a kid in a candy store after being a long time game board player. I hadn't played in a head to head league in about 15 years when I heard about the Sporting News Strat ATG on line game. Still addicted all these years later. Bill
