Valen,

No, that wasn't it. He was getting used for 2+ innings sometimes and facing more lefty batters than righty batters even though I had two lefty specialists fresh in the pen.

Pulled the trigger, Crawford and Campbell are gone. Let's see if he finally decides to use Garman and Sambito.

So ... 2 nights and 6 games after dropping Crawford and Campbell, HAL still has not used my #1 lefty or righty specialists.

How do you not use a team's #1 ranked specialist once in 18 games. Yet he had used Crawford and Campbell (my #2 ranked specialists) multiple times???

Kinda Crazy!

You'd have to post all your pitcher prefs here for us to see what's going on

If you really want those specialists to get in the game, put your specialist after closer but BEFORE setup

Are you telling me that the order in which the roles are listed matters? I guess I never knew that mattered at all.

Yes it matters. HAL will look at the situation and take the first role listed that fits that situation

If it were my team, I'd still have Sutter and Murray listed 1 and 2 in everything. Only if they were both unavailable would I want Garman or Sambito anywhere near the game

There may not be any ground between this setup and the RH/LH specialists getting left in for an inning of 2 while the other team takes BP.

I'm always happy when the Roberts/Reniff specialist combo gets 10 innings in a year, 1 or 2 batters at a time. :D

You been at this how long coach? Are you getting senile? Everybody knows HAL doesn't listen. Telling HAL something is like telling a cat. It ain't gonna happen.
