Random thoughts, realizing I really need to make sure to check the forum regularly (it's all about being regular)...........

We need (all us guys), to remember that 60 is the new 40, meaning I'm now 40.

Baseball porn indeed!!! That's the funniest damned thing I've heard in a long, long time. And no good wife would have it any other way, I think somehow.......... Come to think of it, my interest in SOM came from the great porn mag Baseball Digest, the aforementioned catchy little ad. Then I broke into my parents closet where the box was stored as a Christmas present, checked (and played) the game out extensively, and put it back as if never disturbed. Something tells me that it probably did not go undetected - just unmentioned.

We did play some APBA baseball too..........it was comparable, but the cards just never measured up in terms of creating a lineup. My buddy Mike had the APBA basketball, if I remember correctly, or SOM - whichever, it took just way too long to play a game. But SOM football was tremendous, and no doubt still is! Board game, I mean. I probably should check out the comp game.

So, coming full circle, Windows 10 seemingly proved too rich for my old computer.......causing massive lack of patience.......so here I am with a recycled but perfectly fine computer with a massive hard drive (Freudian slip), running Linux which I'm very pleased with. Just proving the old maxim that you can teach an old dawg new tricks.

Great topic, gents.

HAL scares the crap outta me sometimes, but the fact that 80% of ATG players are 50+ years old has got to scare the crap out of HAL.

As long as enough of us 50+ are still around until Hal Richman goes to the simulated corn fields doubt Strat is going to be concerned.

I still have just over a dozen credits left but not launching any new teams until MLB playoffs are over. Now that I can DVR those games and watch them all my time gets pretty well totally consumed this time of year.
