Colavito might have been a candidate but got cut out right away by a 9 AB cup of tea first year.

Troy Glaus might have made a run as he had 77 but was derailed by hitting only 1 in 165 AB first year.

Hornsby muddled along with 0,6,8,5,8,9 before breaking out with 21 and then 42 in 1922. Does that not look like a steroid pattern?

6. Braun (103)
7. F. Robinson (98)
8. Klein (94)
9. Stanton (93)
10. Horner (91)

You've got them all. Up through 25 we get some interesting names, names of such wonder and potential, sometimes doomed to the lists of "what happened" or "who would have thought".
