Here are the detailed rules:
Player Set: 2012 season
Skill Level: Standard
Draft type: Auto List Draft
Salary Cap: $120,000,000
FA Drop Penalty: 5% DH Rule: Yes
Waivers: NO - FRENZY as soon as draft is run
Postseason Format: 2 rounds: Best-of-7, Best-of-7
Opening Day: TBD
Managers may own multiple teams: no
Description:
1. Franchise Setup
Each team chooses one keeper franchise. A second keeper team will be chosen by a draft. The draft order is determined by the reverse order of winning % of your keeper team. In the event of ties the tiebreakers is run differential. You have exclusive right to the players from your two franchises for the entire season. Name your team to reflect the two franchises you chose. Your home park must be from one of your two teams.
2. Supplemental Draft
There is a supplemental draft to choose up to two players from the six remaining undrafted teams. Draft order is the reverser of the combined MLB record of your franchises that you have exclusive rights to with run differential being tie breaker. Its a two round snake draft, where teams may pass rather than draft. At no point during the season may you have more than two players from undrafted teams on your roster.
3. Roster Moves
All players from your exclusive franchises not on your active roster are considered your minor leagues. You can make as many moves from your active roster to your minor leagues as you like. Once the season starts there is a 5% salary penalty. The players from the other six teams are only yours while they are on your active roster. If dropped, they revert to free agent status and may be picked up by any other team.
Trade Eligibility – Teams can trade only players from their two exclusive franchise teams both active or in the minor leagues. Players from undrafted teams, even those chosen in supplemental draft cannot be traded. Traded players on your roster do not count against the two player max from “undrafted teams”.
Trade Process – All teams should be notified using messaging of a trade. One team can post the message then the other team should confirm. The rest of the teams have 24 hours from confirmation to voice any objection to the trade, if 5 owners agree (outside of trading teams) to the objection the trade is nullified.
Trade Deadline – All trades need to be confirmed prior to season mid-point game 82 of season.
Post-Trade Considerations – All traded players must be rostered by the receiving team within 48 hours of confirmation. If a player is not rostered or cut later in the season, that player is ineligible to be picked up by ANY team in the league.
4. Moving to next season -Keeper League
After we finish Game 132, we declare if we're going to remain with the league *and* declare which team we keep. The keeper team can be either one of the two franchises we have rights to, doesn't have to be our original choice. The teams that are not kept go back into the available teams. Then the process starts all over with the next season.
