Biggest Loser in Strat? *IMPORTANT UPDATE*

PostMon Dec 06, 2021 4:37 pm

The league has been created. I went with a $45 mil cap. I don’t know if this will prove to be too high, but I YOLO’d it in anyway.

It’s a public league, so just enter your team any time you want. I’m a little disappointed there doesn’t appear to be a ton of interest, so far at least. It will probably take a few days to fill.

Bad luck to all!

I'll give it a shot. I see your note about making the league public, but thought I'd just update the sign-up list for reference.

Managers:

One of the managers who participated in this type of league before brought this to my attention.

The spirit of the game requires everyone to play their fielders at an appropriate position. They do NOT have to play their best position, but they do have to have a position ON THEIR CARD.

You are not to draft 14 catchers and play them out of position. Barring injury, no player should ever play a position he’s not carded for.

Respectfully, I request you meet this friendly spirit of the competition guideline. If you have drafted a team of all catchers, please re-do your autodraft list immediately.

Thx to the manager for the heads up, I had not even considered this myself (but I should have!! Doh!) :o

No salary requirements other than the $45 mil cap. You can have high dollar, one sided platoons if that’s what you’re getting at.

I think they are asking if our roster needs to add up to a specified min salary. If you use all $0.50 players the floor is $12.5M.

No, there’s no specified minimum salary. You can be at $12.5 mil all season long if you prefer.

Is there a reason to believe that a lack of $0.50 players to go around equitably will throw things greatly out of whack?

No. There are more than enough dreadful players for a 12 team league such as this.

Number of $0.50 players by position:

C - 11 (24 are valued < $0.95)
1B - 21
2B - 18
SS - 14
3B - 13
LF - 24
CF - 18
RF - 25
SP - 35 (60 are valued < $0.73)
RP - 45 (60 are valued < $0.72)
