Sam Huff 2020

Can anyone tell me why HAL keeps pinch hitting for my DH Sam Huff at least 1 game every series, for no reason, with an inferior batter?

I've tried everything in hitter's preference and strategy already....keeps happening.

Are you sure he’s marked “Don’t Pinch Hit For” (on both sides) in the Hitter Prefs section? That should fix it.

Otherwise, you may have to post a few links. These things are almost always easily deciphered.

Yes, I had 'don't pinch hit for vs righties'.....he was pinch hit for....
Then I clicked both lefties and righties.....still the same...
Then I left 'blank' pinch hitter preferences vs lefties or righties....still it happened.
Even when losing....and this of course is my most expensive player.....my team is off to a horrible start and I'm going to have to take a big loss of team value and replace him,...which is pretty bad.

Hoping for someone from SOM to see this and look into it before I do that.

What do you have in Team Strategy, offensive subs? Is Smoak in there?

Looks like Smoak is set for platoon versus LHP.

Operator error. I figured out how to do it now, and that has to be it, I would think.

I have no one in my 'Pinch Hit' vs Lefty or Righty....both blank.
For Huff,...I have 'Don't pinch hit vs Lefty and Righty....
For Lineup Depth,..I have only Huff as my DH...no depth after him.

For Smoak,...I have 'Avoid Lefties and Righties'...but he just keeps getting in the games.

Happened again today...in a one-run game....my best hitter taken out for a bench player.

Huff also has 67 dice rolls on pitcher card....37 on his card.....is SOM trying to negate his effectiveness?....or is everything a strange coincidence?

In the play by play, Smoaks' appearance included "role" platoon PH". You have inadvertenly listed Smoak as a platoon PH in one of your lineups against righties. Go check them again and see if Smoak is listed in the last column of any of them. Make sure you check alternalte lineup v rights 2 because sometimes people forget that one is hidden down there at the bottom.

Wow!....I did have him there in one of the lineups,...as a platoon DH! HOLY COW! I thought that was a 3rd backup in case of injury...but didn't look closely enough.

Now I'm just left to wonder about the nearly 2-1 dice rolls favoring the pitcher's cards...I know it may even out in time, but that's an extreme ratio...
