What happened to the relief pitcher rules?

PostTue Sep 29, 2020 3:25 pm

So, I am in the playoffs in the Players Championship.

Kirby Yates on the other team throws 3 innings in Game 1, throwing 41 pitches, and ending the last hitter at F0.

So what happens? In G2 of the series, HAL brings him in to close out the 9th! The team had 5 other rested relievers, yet brings in Yates... and brings him in at F4!!!

What happened to "if a pitcher throws 2 more innings than he should he will sit out for 2 days" or "if he pitches more than his fatigue number, he will need a day of rest"? To add insult to injury, he gets brought in at something other than F0 -- and that is in a 2-1 game.

I don't think it's that straightforward. My guess is that he is set for Max Closer so the closer came in, but tired. I believe that *should* mean more rolls on your own card.
