Question for the Strat Vets - Starting a friends league??

PostFri Apr 10, 2020 9:27 pm

With the 2020 season up in the air... the guys in our fantasy league thought that Strat-O-Matic league might fill the void. My brothers in I were addicted as kids back in the 60's & 70's. Can someone help us with direction on how we might be able to set up our own league. Can we do that? Any help would be appreciated!

There is a 6-team option, a 12 team option, and a 24 team option.
You'd first need to Start a New Team, then fill out your draft list.
Then click Join a League
Then click Create a New League, Name that new league, set forth the parameters you want, Create a Password for the League on that page as well, then share that password with those you want to join your Private League.

If you don't have a perfect number of people, either 6, 12 , or 24 you should go with a public league so it will fill.

You have the option of making it a public league for everyone, or a private league for just you and your friends. You only have to choose one of those options when creating the league..

1. Everyone buy an ONLINE 365 CREDIT.
2. Pick your card set (year 2019, All Time Greats etc.)
3. Everyone draft a team within salary cap perimeters, or no cap.
4. Make sure everyone joins the same league.

5. New Leagues start on Mondays and it is a three game series every night.

Or you can buy the CD-ROM and do it that way, but I would recommend THIS way.

jfporter,
Welcome aboard!
How many guys do you have in your fantasy league? If you have close to 6 or 12 (or even 24), you should definitely set it up as a private league with a password. The problem with setting it up as a public league is that others in this community might jump in before you guys are all in, and someone might get shut out.
If, for example, you have 10 guys from fantasy baseball, set up a 12-team league. (Considering you guys are missing current fantasy baseball, I assume you will go with the 2019 season set.) Anyway, once the 10 of you are in the league, you can then post the password on the message boards here, saying that there is a new league of beginners with two spots open. You should definitely point out that you are beginners to online Strat-O-Matic. Even though you played it as a kid (like a lot of us) and even though you play fantasy baseball (like a lot of us), there is a learning curve for this game so it's best to play among other beginners.
