This is in accordance with the rule for traded players (real life traded players) who had more plate appearances (IP) with a different team during real life - i.e. they were traded late in the season and therefore had more plate appearances (IP) with a different franchise than the one listed by strat.

EG includes Cory Gearrin - Strat shows Oakland, adjusted franchise is SF

oldmansmith2 wrote:Good point, I did check everybody that I plan to protect. One other thing, the rules allow for trading but that would be after we have declared our 25 man initial roster right? Up until then we have exclusive rights to the players from the team we draft, but they're not ours to trade until we have protected 25 of them and the unprotected ones go into the pool of available free agents. Am I correct on this Geoff?

Process:
1. Draft franchises
2. Declare a 25 man protected list on the boards here
3. Do 2 round FA draft. The FA pool is every player not on one of the 25 man protected lists, including all players on other (non-drafted) franchises. As each Free Agent is drafted, that player must cut one of his 25 protected franchise players, who then is added back into the FA pool
4. Autodraft teams using up to 3 additional Free Agents if desired. More than 5 FA's can be used provided that 20 franchsie players are maintained at all times (i.e. you can carry more than 25 players if you want, as long as 20 are franchise players).

Question to the group - the main reason I didn't do a 5 round FA draft on the boards was that originally this was a 24 team concept, which I shortened to 12 teams. Does the group want to do a 5 round FA draft on the boards?

See my answer above, and my question for the group to consider.

I would be ok with any format but having 5 rounds of FA's is cool.

It was super hard to get under $75 mil with this team and I really didnt spend enough time looking at all of my options. I came home from work to see the league was full and one team already drafted. Since I was third, and Bill posted his team I was under the gun so I hope it works out. I do believe that all twelve teams can field a good squad. This will really be interesting. Thanks Geoff for doing all the legwork and getting it started.

I'm ok with a 5 rd. draft as long as it's understood that at all points in the process your team must be compliant with the 75mil cap.
