Jose Ramirez futility

PostSat Mar 30, 2019 11:25 pm

Anyone have leagues in which Jose Ramirez and his $10M is playing like a $1M player?
I'm in several leagues right now and Ramirez is batting as low as .175 in one league (after 60 games) and .198 on my team in another league. At best, he's batting around .210 to .220 in other leagues with a slug % around .400 if lucky.
His OBP isn't anything to write home about either.

$10M card? Defense and Speed are nice, but his hitting makes him over-priced.

Anyone having good success with him offensively (player 60+ games)?

After 81 games in 2 leagues Ramirez has OPS's of .833 and .688. He had an OPS of .939 in real life last season. So if you're looking for offense he's definitely lacking. I posted this in another thread a month ago:

Palmtana wrote:I was comparing M. Chapman's and Jose Ramirez' offensive stats and couldn't see why Ramirez cost $2.03M more than Chapman. As it turns out the little things add up.

Hits/OB/TB
Chapman - vs. LHP - 28/41/41 2 BPHR's
vs. RHP - 23/34/48 7 BPHR's

Ramirez - vs. LHP - 23/33/44 3 BPHR's
vs. RHP - 15/41/41 8 BPHR's

Chapman is the better offensive player by a bit. Then I started looking at other parts of their cards and can now see why there is a price difference.

Ramirez is a switch hitter. Stole 34 bases vs. 1 for Chapman. 10 fewer errors at 3rd. He's a 680 guys vs. Chapman's 600+.
(Ramirez') clutch is -2 vs. -5. (He has) 0 DP's vs. Chapman's 17. Ramirez has 2nd base eligibility. Not that you would play him there.

Subtract Chapman's advantage at the plate from Ramirez' intangibles and whaddya get? $2.03M

Jose Ramirez, has my vote for the most over priced card in the set... I have him in a 100 mil league, using Target field as my home ball park, hoping he would get a lot of chances batting lefty with a good power card in that park.. his splits so far:

.188/.311/.403

Last time I draft him. In real life baseball he's a stud, in Strat-o he is a dud

He is doing very poorly here for me, .197 .280 .401, along with most the reds & indians on this team!

Juan Soto is killing me despite the fact I think his card is solid. Benitendi is not being drafted or is dropped early on...mostly because his card is overpriced

I have the dynamic duo on the same team in one of my leagues:
After 63 games:

Ramirez - .197, .308, .372
Soto - .203, .313, .338
$18+ Million of wasted money.

My team is not surprisingly.... 28-35

BP homerun syndrome. Changes the whole dynamic.

Or, BPHS for short.

Check with your Dr. to see what Meds may be right for you. And be sure to ask about the side effects. ;) :D
