That would be easiest and mostly acceptable.

Being in a National league city all my life--I really never paid much attention to the details of the DH rule--if Ohtani Starts a game pitching, hit in his spot, then gets relieved, can he stay in as the DH?? (can he be his own DH so to speak??)

No, you can't be DH and pitcher in the same game. You are one or the other.

You can be your own DH in College baseball. You can be removed as pitcher and stay in the game as DH. MLB should adopt this rule.

The fix would be to make a new pitchers hitting card that linked to him and then allow pitchers to DH.
