Check out the bottom of the 9th. I have a SS 1-8 for a reason, yet with two outs in the bottom of the 9th on a gbss(x)...a single? (Then a hr to lose the game), Just a meaningless game, in a lost season for me.... yet I don't get it. I didn't think 1's allowed singles. Help me out here.

You fell victim to the super advanced holding a runner on base rule. With a runner on 1st and a left handed batter at the plate, the fielders responsible for holding the runner are the 1st baseman and the shortstop. If a groundball (x) occurs at either of those positions, that fielders range rating is adjusted +1 making your shortstop a 2 instead of a 1 for that play making it possible for the resulting single. Bad luck and of course holding Cano who is an E stealer and 1-11 baserunner is another story, but its probably automatic in a 1 run game in the bottom of the ninth.

With a 4-2 lead--Cano should not have been held--IN fact, Cano should never be held--he has a better chance of being picked-off than a successful steal.

Miller is correct. JFrost, if I were you, I would email Support and ask for clarification as to why this happened. There has to be an explanation, but I'll be darned if I know what it is.

Miller is correct in saying that Cano should not be held. That doesn't mean that Hal in his infinite wisdom didn't hold him. I'm fairly certain that is what happened here but by all means email Strat for clarification.
