WOW, Strat changing Starters endurance ratings

PostWed Jan 02, 2019 4:29 pm

http://www.strat-o-matic.com/announcements/new-starting-pitcher-endurance-ratings-for-2018-season/?fbclid=IwAR2zy9D4RDbkiOtxpzCMr_sjy1JQsJxeQrNcA7VRijHxoyKdEU5pkw1ZwUU

Some would say long overdue. Not sure what this means for * rated starters, it may mean there are only 4 in the set, which means the days of the 4 man rotation are gone.

Gonna be interesting to see if there are any changes with the SOMO rules and pitcher usage.

BTW, anyone know when we can order the data download or cards?

Looks like SOM is changing to accomodate openers. Now how to handle Shohei Ohtani. :geek:

The past few years the Ratings Guide has been dropped in mid-January.

Did you rerad the article? There are changes to the rules. Specifically how long a Sp can go past their POW and different rules for RP's having to start. Don't know if thats what you are refering to, but definitely changes.

Why would Joe not have read the article? He may be referring to the fact that SOMO (referring to the Online game) may have different parameters from the computer/board game.

As far as the trivia goes, Steven Wright (S7!) had 4 starts in 20 appearances. In his starts he went 3.1, 7.0, 6.2 and 7.0 innings. Hopefully this wackiness doesn't translate to the online game. If it does he went from a middlin' RP to a very viable SP.

Also, why the reference to the year "2000" in the article? Typo?

The Steven Wright thing is really confusing. There were 13 pitchers that pitched 200 or more innings last season and apparently 10 of them will be getting either a S6 or S5 but Steven Wright gets a S7? He pitched 53 innings last season and Strat just made him a 250 IP starter.

What Palmtana said. Just wondering if it will translate directly to the online game.
