Well, okay. So the luster on this idea may have fizzled a little bit, but I'm gonna create a league and see if we can close out the 2017 card season in style.
pwd: NITchampThe original premise, once again:
An invitational for PC/Tour entrants whose bubbles burst, i.e. failed to make the top 36 this year. Here's the proposal: 2- 80 Mil leagues of 12 (5/10 & waivers), seeded into divisions (brackets?) by final Tour points accumulated (e.g. teams in East Regional I, by ranking: 1,12, 13, and 24). Top 6 of each play in a re-seeded NIT final league (salary cap to be voted upon) to determine the 'champion'. Final league to be live drafted through 12 players and stadium.
Fills at 24 and off we go. If we can't get 24 folks interested, we'll do a simple one-off league...which would largely kill the tournament vibe, but anyway
Bearing in mind there are former PC Champions among the non-qualifiers, an NIT win would offer some modicum of satisfaction and closure after having been left out of the Big Dance.
Anyone game?
