Although this occurred in a 60s Mystery League, I feel that it could have happened in any online SOM League, so I'm posting this question on this forum.
Now that this league has finished and the mystery year revealed, note the difference between the simulation Jerry Grote and his actual stats for the 1968 season:
CON 98 314 35 83 19 4 2 33 24 66 0 0 .264 .316 .369 .685
1968 NYM 124 404 29 114 18 0 3 31 44 81 1 5 .282 .357 .349 .706
In 1968, Grote had no triples, but yet in the simulation league he had 4. I thought Strato had rules to limit the number of triples that a player could get. With his "speed" (1-11 running), I wouldn't think that he would be stretching any doubles into triples, although I do generally set my base running to "Aggressive".
Although it would be something of a statistical aberration, did the four triples come from the X chart from either "4" of "5" rated fielders??
Sometimes I wish we had the capability in Mystery Leagues to have the dice rolls in games revealed also so that one could review past games and see how something like this occurred.
