Hey, I got a +247run 109-win!! But it was a 100M league, so I guess it doesn't count. A Cadmen team with 4 *SP

I also had success in Cadmen with a low-budget rotation in a high-offense stadium. 100 wins, +173, won the Finals, a similar team than the previous one, with lots of power on the left side and plenty of lefty pitching, but also some pop on the right side (Cadmen still has 11 BP on the right-side). So I guess I could write, to the risk of jinxing my participation in the Tour, that Cadmen was the easiest stadium for me to have success.

In this team, Bradley and Rizzo were the obvious leaders, I had a few productive platoons, and players like Choo (.362 onbase) and Dozier (30hr, 90 runs, excellent defense), neither of whom I can consider "good values", were nevertheless key to this team success---I don't think this team would have had as much success with 5 extra M spent on the rotation. K-Rod was not the right top reliever for Cadmen, but this was a 24-team league, You have to make that kind of compromise.

My successes seemed to come from a Stars and Scrubs approach. Get 4-6 top tier salary guys and fill in with value players.

Lots of good teams here - keep 'em coming.

If you comment more on the philosophy or theme behind your team, that would make for some good discussion.

my best team of all time. 4 power stud pitchers that rocked the quad20!!

some good/great defence/ some underused cards (DARNAUD)/good platoons performances (uribe/dietrich).

That link doesn't work

If we could, just to keep the discussion going in one direction, let's keep our posts to how to win in 2016 (2015 card set) using $80 mil (usually DH) leagues. The non-standard leagues all have their merits, but the comparisons are not really apples to apples.

I'll throw one of my earlier teams in here to echo where the conversation first started, with geekor's four stud starter strategy:

http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1424806

A couple of thoughts. I agree that this is harder to pull off as the pool of *SPs is usually stretched pretty thin in the autodraft nowadays.

My second concern is that picking up the pieces when this type of autodraft fails is not easy to pull off either. Where do you go when you missed every pitcher and the top tier hitters are now all gone too?

A third concern is this: Even if you have the kind of draft that you set out to have, are you satisfied with the resulting run differential? It seems that trying to win a ring with 600 (or sometimes less) runs scored is a bit one dimensional.

Although I agree with geekor's assessment, I think there are still more optimal options to consider now that we're late into the card set. There's no need to have your draft hinge on getting the pitchers you select in the autodraft. Having room for some flexibility I think is the way to go...

Ok, I'll throw in some teams before my season went off of the rails.

Here is a a vanilla Petco team where I had starting pitching tough on lefties, strong relief, and left-handed power line-up. Won the championship.

http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1422741

I made so many changes to this AT&T team that it's hard to figure out the strategy but mainly giving up few hits from my pitchers and having lefty high BA hitters. Won the championship.

http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1431844

Heavy pitching staff with BA/on-base in Kaufman. Won.

http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1432331

Had a Wrigley team where I mixed right-handed power with lefty on-base. I think I focused on limiting right-handed power with the SPs (for the most part) and then stacked my relief. Won.

http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1434306

This team did not win the championship but I used a 5 million total starting staff with a loaded relief staff and then 60 million on offense in Citizen's Bank to get a high power/high on-base offense that scored over 900 runs.

http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1434497

This Fenway team had good relief and a high average team with some righted-handed power. Did not win the championship.

http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1423843

This AT&T had 95 wins but did not the championship. Strong lefty line-up anchored by Harper. Had some starting pitchers who gave up some power but low WHIP.

http://365.strat-o-matic.com/team/1428784

So I guess I had more success in pitching parks. I did have the 91 win Citizen's Bank team and a 89 win Miller term they I did not list but that's it. And then I guess my ideas got stale and I could not win anywhere.
