2 1/2 Team League

The league works like this
- the newest set Unleashed ;
- Salary cap : 100 millions $;
- Dh rule;
- 10% free agents drop pen;
- 5 round draft - to be determined by randomizer
- We draft 5 HALF teams that belong exclusively to each manager , as our AAA minimum 2 pitching and 2 hitting.
- 5 th round will be randomized again to make it fair.
- NO Trades are allowed
- the divisions are determined by the rank that we draft (West #1 to 4, Central # 5 to 8, East # 9 to 12);
- as in the past year, we pick a stadium from one of the teams that we have drafted
* each manager picks 5 Half (pitching/hitting) teams;
** serpentine draft;
We will run a randomizer to determine the draft slots The draft slots goes like this :
1 & 24 - 25-48
2 & 23 - 26-47
3 & 22 - 27-46
4 & 21 - 28-45
5 & 20 - 29-44
6 & 19 - 30-43
7 & 18 - 31-42
8 & 17 - 32-41
9 & 16 - 33-40
10 & 15 - 34-39
11 & 14 - 35-38
12 & 13 -36-37

What if we made this a 2 1/2 team lague? 5 round serpentine draft draft any combo with at least 2 of each hitters and pitchers drating only 1 side of the squad in each round. Where say someone drafts Yankee hitting , than someone else drafts yankee pitching. All undrafted players are free agents but we must keep 25 man only roster , and 21 players must be from the original teams drafted?

From what ive heard on the boards is that the first 2 teams are extremely deep and the rest are rather weak, so i think trading may be the only way that teams can be competetive. We could propose a Mandatory roster of 25 players and at least 22 must be from the 2 franchises that you draft, allowing a lttle flexibililty but limiting the number of players that a team can acquire in trades.

I'd go for something like that. I just want to try to maintain the integrity of theme as much as possible. If that's the rule, then count me in.

perhaps we can draft 1/2 roster and do 2 1/2 teams , each manager ending up with at least 2 (or at most 3) pitching staffs and at least 2 (or at most 3) hitting frokm all the teams. 5 round draft after round 4 we run another randomizer to determine round 5 order
