RIP Stan Musial

PostSun Jan 20, 2013 12:15 am

I'm not exaggerating when I say that when I heard of the passing of Stan Musial, I almost started crying. Stan was an inspirational person and player for me, even though he'd long since retired as I grew up. As a baseball history buff, I can say that Stan was truly "The Man". I don't take much solace in hearing that he lived a long life right now, but it definitely helps to know that he lived to 92. I'll miss Stan.

Hey Lev, I listened to Hank Aaron talk about Musial during their playing days on MLB Network and it was great listening. I think they met through All-Star games. He couldn't have been more effusive with his praise. He loved the man. Musial might have been an even greater person than ballplayer.
